Right now we plan to start pilots towards the end of 2026. This will run concurrently with the last obstacle, which is 3rd party validation and certification (e.g. UL, IEC, SWCC). Sales start as soon as this can be accomplished.

The commercial turbine is expected to be between 10-15 ft (3-4.5 m) tall. A future residential turbine is expected to be around 4-5 ft (~1.4 m) tall.

Final specs need a completed, fully engineered turbine which is expected towards the end of Q4. When we have specs that can be responsibly released, we'll let our newsletter subscribers know them as they come (you can sign up on this page).

The last iteration validated 2 kW but our target is 6-13 kW for the design. There are a few technical milestones to check off before we're certain enough to change our estimates.

The currently validated 2 kW rating can be improved with changes to two main things: 1) the blade's sweep area and 2) the technical scope required to validate more complex parts of the design (i.e. more time and cost). An increase to the both of these could have the turbine's final rating at 6-13 kW.

Final materials depend on the strength and durability requirements shown in the final engineering of the turbine, as well as manufacturability, weight, etc. Top contenders right now are carbon fiber, sheet metal, fiberglass, or possibly something like blow molded plastic for the smaller residential model.

The milestones at the bottom of the "Our Turbine" outline the milestones left. In short: 1) a final refinement of the design, 2) commercial-grade prototype fabrication, 3) concurrent projects for certifications and pilot programs. Commercialization can technically begin after safety certifications, but we'll need to see how all #3 projects stack up.

Rooftop solar installers interested in adding our turbines to their offerings can sign up below. We will notify you when fully engineered specifications are released, which we expect in late 2026.
